Two worlds apart
I started to take an interest in watching drama, especially Korean drama, because someone recommended me a K-drama. At first, I didn't like K-drama because of the long hours of watching, and I couldn't understand the series well because of the language barrier, so I focused on the subtitles instead of watching the action scenes on the screen. Korean drama was new to me at the time, so I was unfamiliar with understanding the culture and tradition that were shown in the K-drama.K-dramas are also exaggerating because of the awkward scenes that are shown in the romance-comedy genre of K-dramas.
But when I find a K-drama that piques my interest, I cannot stop watching it because of the good storyline and plot. The more I watch different types of K-drama,the more I gain new knowledge about something, such as the cultures and traditions of Koreans, how the audience relate themselves in a specific scenario or series, and how the character development of the character in the k-drama affects the viewers. Watching K-drama helps me to forget my problems and relieve stress by watching the story of K-drama and escaping reality for a short time. It also creates bonds between your friend who watches the same K-drama because you both have the same interest in the genre of K-drama and talk and make a theory together about the possible outcome of the story.
K-drama made me open my mind to how the world works and different societal problems that individuals, groups, or the world face, such as corruption of the government and a higher-ups, discrimination, the power of money, and the different treatment on the lower class. The K-drama that I watched gave me a different perspective on life because of the experiences of the characters in the story. Watching a K-drama that has a similar situation about you feels like you're watching yourself. K-drama also makes you feel like you're also in the scene because it feels like you're connected to the feelings of the characters in the drama, it's like putting yourself into the life of others.
I personally like the crime and mystery genre of the kdrama because I become interested if I'm using my brain to deduce the crime scene and who's the possible suspect. The crime and mystery genre also has the most unexpected plot twists. There's a k-drama that I watched that made my mind blow because of the unpredictable plot twist that the story had. If you can watch some of the gross scenes in the crime K-drama and you like the crazy plot twist, I'm suggesting you watch the K-drama called "Mouse."
Korean dramas are truly wonderful because you can learn many things based on the genre of the kdrama you watch. It can give you life and moral lessons, have a scenario on how the bond of the friendship grows stronger, help you find solutions to the problems you are facing, and lastly, help you become a better person. Me, personally admits that Korean dramas thought me a lot of lessons in life, it also helps me to boost my self-esteem, and the kdrama thought me on how to improve yourself and have a better personality.
